About Us

About Us

Stanford Design Initiative is a ragtag group of Stanford students who really dig design, and want to share their skills with the Stanford community. We run a weekly workshop (see calendar) at the d.school (see map), where 15-30 people learn to design vector art, make pottery, and even dabble in some electronics. We also run a mentorship program that allows designers in the area to mentor Stanford students.

The Design Initiative also runs the designkids list for the Stanford community. We pepper the list with funky design news, mad useful resources, and snarky typography jokes. It’s a good list to follow if you want to know more about this “design” thing or are looking for design jobs.

If you want to become a leader in the design community at Stanford, we should hang out.
